I am pleased to announce that the year 6 play this term will be ‘Pantastic’.
Children will respond in a variety of ways to both the film and the musical, Peter Pan, including artwork and dance. They will work predominantly on developing skills in speaking and performing.
Class 5 – Arc de Triomphe
In Class 5 we will start by looking at biographies. We will be exploring the life of Mary Seacole and will then plan and write biographies about celebrities that we have researched ourselves. Later in the term, we will explore poetry and figurative language like similes and metaphors. We will also be writing a longer narrative piece, to include all skills and grammar learnt throughout this year. Alongside this, we will be improving our use of vocabulary and knowledge of sentence structures, including looking at tenses and word classes, such as nouns, verbs, adverbs and adjectives. During the term, we will focus on a few aspects of sentence punctuation. We will also look at complex sentences and connectives.
Welcome to term 6, I hope you had a relaxing half term! Below is an overview of the learning we will be exploring this upcoming term. If you have any questions then please feel free to come and speak to me at the end of the school day or organise an appointment with the office.
