Children in Year 2 have a great opportunity to spend the day at Samphire Hoe on Monday 11 July 2016.
This trip will take place during normal school hours.
All children will require a packed lunch for this trip, however, if your child is entitled to a free school meal, a packed lunch will be provided. If it is going to be a hot day an extra small bottle of water will be needed.
In the morning children will be taking part in rock pooling so they can discover more about this amazing habitat. In the afternoon they are going to be exploring the grass land habitat, carrying out a bug survey and a smelly pots activity!
We are lucky enough to have Paul Holt, who is the ranger at Samphire Hoe, leading the day.
Please provide all children with a waterproof coat or jacket in case it rains whilst the children are out.
Children are to wear school uniform including suitable shoes (such as trainers), a sun hat in case it is hot and a waterproof coat or jacket in case it rains. Please also bring a spare bag with a full change of clothing, a towel and an old pair of trainers or wellies for rock pooling (children are very likely to get their feet wet.
In line with the school’s policy, we are asking for a voluntary contribution of £7.50 per child, which pays for the ranger and the day’s activities.
Thank you for your continued support.
