The Queen’s 90th Birthday Celebration.
As you may well have seen on our Facebook page, we are holding a special event to celebrate the Queen’s 90th Birthday.
This event will take place on Friday 10th June 2016 from 1.30pm.
We would like to invite you to come along and join in the celebrations with us. Please bring a picnic that you can share with your child/children. You might also like to bring a blanket or chairs for you to sit on as the celebration will take place on the school field.
Each family can apply for 4 adult tickets (all pre-school children accompanying adults will not need tickets).
The celebrations will finish at 3pm and parents are welcome to take their children home with them once their class teacher has been informed.
We would appreciate volunteers to help clear up after the event. Please let the office know if you are able to do so.
The children can dress up for the day as a King or Queen.
During the afternoon there will be music, a bouncy castle and an inflatable obstacle course for the children to play on.
There will be 2 different competitions that will be judged:
1. During the half-term break, for homework, we are asking the children to design and make a crown. Their crowns can be worn on the day and a prize will be given to the best crown from each class.
2. As part of their English lessons that week the children will be working on a non-chronological report about the Queen. The best non-chronological report from each learning stage will win a prize.
The children will also receive a special gift to keep as a memento of the day.
For Health and Safety reasons the main school gate will be locked during the event and there will be no vehicle access. We ask that all visitors enter using the pedestrian gate, where tickets will be collected.
Unfortunately, if the weather is bad the event will be cancelled.
Get practising the National Anthem and we look forward to seeing you all on this special occasion!
Thank you for your continued support.
