Sports Day for Key Stage One will take place in the morning and Sports Day for Key Stage Two will take place in the afternoon.
Events for Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 will begin at 10am and finish at 12pm. The Key Stage One teams will be led by Key Stage Two Sports Leaders. Events for Years 3, 4, 5 and 6 will start at 1pm and finish at 3pm. At lunch time all children will take part in a family picnic as always; this will run from 12pm until 12.40pm. All children will be led back into their classrooms for registration at 12.40pm and Key Stage 2 children will prepare for their afternoon of events.
When children are not involved in sporting events, they will be continuing their learning in class. Therefore, after the family picnic lunch, Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 children will return to their classes for the afternoon. Children who are entitled to a free school meal will be provided with a school packed lunch; if your child does not receive a free school meal, but you would like them to have a school packed lunch, please inform the school office by Monday, 08 July 2019. No hot lunches will be provided on the day.
The children are allowed to wear their PE kit for the whole day but are to come to school in their uniform and change in their classrooms.
As the weather may be hot, please can you apply plenty of sun tan lotion to your child/children before school and send them in with a sun hat and sun tan lotion for later in the day. We would appreciate your support in reminding your child not to share their sun cream with anyone else. Cold drinks and lollies will be sold for 50p each if you wish to purchase. All profits will be used to buy extra sports equipment for the children.
Once the winners of the Key Stage Two Sports Day events have been announced, those children will return to their classes to be dismissed, along with Key Stage One children, in the normal way. If the Sports Day finishes early and you would like to take your child, please wait for them outside their classrooms as normal.
Please see below an outline of the day and be aware that these are rough timings and they may need to be adjusted on the day.
10:00 – 12:00 with a short break at approx. 11am – Key Stage 1 Sports Day (Key Stage Two children learning as normal)
12:00 – 12:40 – Family Picnic Lunch

Finally, an important housekeeping message: the main school will be closed to parents for Safeguarding. The guest toilet facilities in the main entrance (School Office) will be available to accommodate all parents. For additional safeguarding purposes, please ensure that all younger siblings are with an adult at all times during the day and are not left unattended. The playground equipment, including our new exercise equipment will be out of bounds also for additional safety. We look forward to seeing you on Friday to cheer on all the children in the school.
Thank you for your continued support.
