I am sure many of you, like myself, will have watched the Prime Minister’s address to the nation on Sunday evening.
You will have heard the Prime Minister indicating that the government believes it may be in a position to implement a phased reopening of schools for certain year groups from 1st June. This is part of the government’s conditional plan, which it says will remain under review.
You will appreciate that his statement has raised many questions for school staff, families and school leaders. Schools have also received additional guidance last night which we are using to make plans for the next steps.
I would like to reassure you that the safety and well-being of your children, our pupils, the staff, families and the wider community will remain my priority. I will also keep you all updated on the plans we make for both the care provision and the partial reopening of our school for reception, year one and year six pupils.
At the moment, the school site will remain open for childcare for the children of key workers and vulnerable pupils. We will be here to support all our parents and pupils remotely, as we have done over the last few weeks.
Continue to stay alert and stay safe.
