We will be inviting Year 6 back on Monday, the final phase of the reopening of some year groups. It has been brilliant to welcome back some children and we are looking forward to seeing more of you on Monday. Our school continues to offer a care provision for key worker pupils and vulnerable pupils in other year groups.
As we have explained in previous letters, there are things which have changed in school, for example, working in small bubbles which stay together and resources which will not be brought into use, but the classrooms will still look familiar. These bubbles are used to keep children safe within school. We will be working with our Year 6 pupils to make sure they make a smooth transition into their secondary schools.
Year 6 will enter school at 9.10AM and leave at 3.05PM. They will enter through the pedestrian gate where they will be collected by an adult and returned at the end of the day. Children must be collected from school by an adult. I would like to remind all parents that you are only allowed to come into the school site if you have an appointment. Appointments are made through the school office.
Children must wear school jumpers and polo shirts. Instead of school trousers pupils can wear jogging bottoms so that they do not have to change for outdoor activities such as PE and woodland activities. They can also wear footwear suitable for PE and woodland activities throughout the day.
If your child has individual, medical or special educational needs, it is important that you discuss these needs before they return to school. Please make an appointment through the school office to speak to a member of the leadership team.
Good hygiene and keeping things clean will be a priority. We will be reinforcing hand washing, catch it and bin it and will ask the children to wipe their workspace with a wipe during, and at the end of the school day.
Children will be able to order a school packed lunch which will cost £2.25, payable in the usual way, unless your child is entitled to free school meals.
We look forward to seeing Year 6 on Monday.
