We hope you all had a lovely weekend and rested well. It was great to visit all the classes today and to see how calm and purposeful the classroom climates were. Children were eager to share their learning and demonstrated excellent listening and collaborative skills during their lessons.
As we return to school in this current climate, I am sure that you can appreciate the need for us to be constantly revisiting our risk assessments in order to keep everyone as safe as we can. Below are some updated requests.
Some children are bringing their own hand sanitisers in to school. However, any substances that we use in school must be assessed by our Health and Safety Manager. I am sure that you can understand how difficult this would be to carry out this process for every child. The school has a plentiful supply of its own sanitiser which is strictly compliant with government guidance. This is used frequently throughout the school day in all classes and areas.
Please ensure that your child does not bring any form of hand sanitiser in to school from home.
We should appreciate it if you would organise a bottle of water that your child can bring into school daily, as well as their drink for their lunch. This would enable your child to have a drink when needed without having to leave their classroom and so prevents avoidable movement around the school and keeps class bubbles safe.
It is really important that we all try to maintain social distancing whilst dropping off and collecting children from school. We know that this isn’t easy and hope that the staggered exit times support you in doing so. We are grateful to you for your support and patience.
Free School Meals
As you are aware, children in Reception, year 1 and year 2 are all entitled to universal free school meals. However, please make sure that you take the link below to apply for free school meals so that your child will continue to receive them in years 3, 4, 5 and 6 if you are eligible.
The school lunch menus will be attached to this email.
Thank you for your continued support.
