To mark the 75th anniversary of VE Day, Central Government has announced that the May Day Bank Holiday will move from Monday 4 May 2020 to Friday 8 May 2020, and KCC have updated their school term dates for 2019-20 to accommodate this change.
This week, Miss Gollop conducted pupil voice throughout the school. The children unanimously voted for a split key stage sports day, the same as last year. KS1 sports day will be in the morning and KS2 sports day will be in the afternoon. There will of course be our shared lunchtime picnic on the field or for those of you who wish to get out of the sun, the school hall will be open for use.
The children also voted for which activities they wanted from a range identified in assembly.
KS1 voted for: Penalty Shootout, Obstacle Course, Javelin and Hockey Dribble.
KS2 voted for: Penalty Shootout, Javelin, Obstacle Course and Sack Race.
Further information will be sent out in due course.

Arts and Crafts
Miss Sedgwick runs an Art and Crafts club that children can attend every Friday during Golden Time. In order to make the club a great success Miss Sedgwick needs a constant supply of craft items such as:
Donations of the above would be appreciated.
Play and Stay
Mrs Manton will be running a play and stay group every Wednesday morning from 9am until 10.30am. Refreshments will be sold for a small contribution.
After school sports clubs
After school clubs will be running from Monday 03 June 2019. If you would like to your child to attend, please contact the school office.
Monday - Multi-Sports for Years 1 - 6
Tuesday - Take Action for Years 2 - 6
Wednesday - Gymnastics for Years 2 - 6
Thursday - Football for Years 2 - 6
Friday - Street Dance for Years 1 - 6 (This is now open to pupils in year 1)
All sports clubs finish at 4.15pm and all children must be collected by an adult.
Due to limited space in the children’s lockers, we would like to encourage your child, should they wish to use a back pack, to bring in a small pack so that they fit more easily into the lockers and doors can be closed properly. Ideally children just need a small P.E bag and their book bag in school.
Please ensure that you label your child’s full uniform, including PE and swimming kits.
Just a polite reminder: please do not leave litter on the school premises.

Could parents please make sure that all pupils have their PE kits ready and in school. Each pupil has their own locker where their PE kits can be kept during the school term.
Late arrival at school
When your child arrives late at school, he/she misses the teacher's instructions, their morning task and possibly the introduction to the mathematics lesson. Your child may also feel embarrassed at having to enter the classroom late. School begins at 09.00am. Please help your child to be punctual.
