Pupil Voice
Children from Pupil Panels are raising money to twin a toilet for a country in poverty.
The children were asked their thoughts about the project and this is what they said…….
Chloe said, “We are raising money by having a cake sale and raising awareness to twin a toilet.  This is so that we can buy people that don’t have a toilet, a clean and safe new toilet for them to use.”
Lillie-Mae said, “We are going to have a cake sale because there are people in other countries that don’t have a toilet so we are raising money to give them a clean toilet to use.”
Aidan said, “We are trying to raise money to twin a toilet for people in Asia so that they can have a toilet.  We are selling cakes at break time to raise money.”

The Winter Mini Challenge - Monday 2 December to Monday, 13 January
Children can take part in the Winter Mini Challenge by simply reading three books of their choice.  They just need to add each book to the Winter Mini Challenge website and leave a short book review.  Rating and reviewing three books online will unlock a virtual badge and a special Pugs of the Frozen North certificate to print off and keep.  They’ll be a whole host of fun activities and reading recommendations, plus an exciting new competition.   The website isn’t live just yet, keep an eye out at your local library for posters or ask library staff for details nearer to December.

Information
Now the weather is turning cold, please make sure that all children come to school with a warm coat and if necessary hat and gloves.

Wellington Boots
Please can you ensure that all children have a pair of wellington boots in school with them.  This year every class will attend the Woodland Area for a weekly planned lesson and it can be muddy depending on the weather.

Arts and Crafts
Miss Sedgwick runs an Art and Crafts club that children can attend every Friday during Golden Time.  In order to make the club a great success Miss Sedgwick needs a constant supply of craft items such as:
Beads
Buttons
Paper plates
Lace
Lace trimmings
Artificial flowers
Jewels/sequins
Stickers
Fabric
Ribbons
Donations of the above would be appreciated.

Play and Stay
Mrs Manton will be running a play and stay group every Wednesday morning from 9am until 10.30am.  Refreshments will be sold for a small contribution.

School Lockers
Due to limited space in the children’s lockers, we would like to encourage your child, should they wish to use a back pack, to bring in a small pack so that they fit more easily into the lockers and doors can be closed properly.  Ideally children just need a small P.E bag and their book bag in school.

School Uniform
Please ensure that you label your child’s full uniform, including PE and swimming kits.

Just a polite reminder: please do not leave litter on the school premises.

Free School Meals
If you have access to the internet and would like to apply online for Free School Meals, please use the following website: http://www.kent.gov.uk/education-and-children/schools/free-school-meals.

PE Kits
Could parents please make sure that all pupils have their PE kits ready and in school.  Each pupil has their own locker where their PE kits can be kept during the school term.

Late arrival at school
When your child arrives late at school, he/she misses the teacher's instructions, their morning task and possibly the introduction to the mathematics lesson. Your child may also feel embarrassed at having to enter the classroom late. School begins at 09.00am.  Please help your child to be punctual.
