As a way of providing your child with a really good opportunity to find out about Life in Roman Britain, we have arranged for History Off the Page to spend the day with us on Monday 23rd November.
They will be visiting us here in school during normal school hours.
On this day your child will, through role-play, experience life as it would have been in the year 60AD. They will be using authentic tools and materials to learn skills as apprentices in a wide variety of workshops.
As the day progresses, the children will get involved in the issues of the time, with the chance to participate in a range of cross- curricular activities. By the end of the day, they will have a really good idea of how it felt to be a Roman at the time of the Boudican Revolt.
The day is set to be a really fun, hands-on way to learn about this period of history. To help us to participate fully and to enter into the spirit of the day, we are asking the children to dress up. It would be great to have all of the children dressed up in some way, so if there is anybody having difficulties with this, please come and speak to the class teacher before the day.
There is a voluntary contribution for the day of just £2, which should be brought into school please before the 23rd November.
If you have any further questions, please feel free to contact Mrs Coade or Mr Cobb.
Thank you for your continued support.
