I would like to remind everyone of the Government guidance in relation to isolating if your child has symptoms of Covid-19.
If your child has:
- A high temperature
- A new, continuous cough
- A loss of, or change to, your sense of smell or taste
they must start to isolate at home for 10 days (the rest of the household need to isolate for 14 days) and access a Covid-19 test.
If the Covid-19 test is negative your child can return to school once they are well (the rest of the household can stop isolating and return to normal). If the Covid-19 test is positive, they must isolate for 10 days (the rest of the household will need to isolate for 14 days) and you will need to contact PHE SE HPT on 03442 253861.
Children are not allowed to return to school if they have either a high temperature, a new, continuous cough or a loss of, or change to, their sense of smell or taste until they have either had a Covid-19 test or they have completed the 10 days isolation. This is government guidance and our school is unable to make changes for individual cases.
Lack of availability of Covid-19 tests is not a reason to return to school.
To access a test please visit www.nhs.uk/coronavirus or by calling 119.
The 6 key principles to staying safe and slowing the spread of the coronavirus are:
- Wash your hands (for at least 20 seconds)
- Keep socially distancing
- Avoid touching your face
- Cover a cough or a sneeze with a clean tissue and bin it straight away
- Wear a face mask where needed
- Stay home if you are unwell
Thank you for your continued support.
