All pupils will be coming home from school with a Data Collection Sheet, Dismissing Children from School, Bad Weather and Collecting Children from School form.
Please could you check that all the details are correct on the Data Collection Sheet and complete the other forms and return them to the school office.
Dismissing Children from School at 3:15pm
As you are aware, it is the school’s policy for parents of children in Classes 3, 4 and 5 to decide whether their child/children can walk home alone from school at the end of the day at 3:15pm or whether they will be collected. However, the school recommends that pupils in Years 3 and 4 are collected by an adult, and parent responses to the questionnaire reinforced this view.
To update our records for this academic year, please would you complete the dismissing children from school form so that we will then be able to safely say to the children who can leave the school premises and who need to wait to be collected.
As a reminder regarding after-school clubs, all children need to be collected by an adult from our clubs.
Bad Weather Information
As we move into the winter months, the school would like to let you know the procedures in the event of bad weather.
The school will register any closure on Kent County Council’s website, www.kent.gov.uk/winter. You may visit that site for a comprehensive list of school closures. The local radio stations will use that list to inform their broadcasts.
In addition, if the children are already in school and we need to close early we will text you, so please keep us up-to-date with your mobile numbers. Also, please let us know who may collect your child if you are not available.
Please complete the bad weather procedures 2015/16 form and return it to school as soon as possible.
Collecting children from school
If you are happy for another adult to collect your child/children from school on occasions that you are unable to, please complete the consent form for collecting children from school and return it as soon as possible.
Thank you for your continued support.
