Welcome back Class 6.
Thank you to all of you who attended Parents’ Evening. If you were unable to make it and would still like an appointment, please contact the office to arrange one.
Despite this being a very short term, it will be an extremely busy one, as we continue our preparation for the SATs in May.
In Maths we will be covering many new topics including ratio and proportion and scale drawings. Your continued help with testing your child on their tables is much appreciated and definitely makes a difference to much of their work, including fractions and problem solving.
In Literacy the children will continue to improve their writing skills, focusing on advanced punctuation and vocabulary. In class the children have taken up the challenge to improve their spelling skills, by learning extra words and this is something which can be practised at home too.
We will be studying The Earth, Sun and Moon for Science and I am sure this will prove to be a fascinating topic.
The History theme for this term will be The Victorians, which I am sure the Year Five members of our class will enjoy.
As we head towards Easter, we will be studying Christianity and the Easter Story in RE.
Have the children told you that they can now sit like frogs? If not, why not get them to explain what Mindfulness is all about.
Many thanks for your continued support.
