It has been lovely to welcome all of the children back into school today. The staff have worked hard to continue to make sure the school is a safe place for the children.
This morning we held a lovely assembly remotely through Teams. It was great to see so many smiley faces and we said a big hello and welcome to our new Reception children who enjoyed waving to children in the other classes.
For the time being, and due to the current climate, children are not using their locker spaces which are in the shared cloak rooms. Therefore, we would like pupils to wear their PE uniform into school on the day that they have PE, instead of their school uniform.
PE uniform must be worn on these days and includes the following:
Plain Tee-shirt in a school colour
Plain shorts or jogging bottoms in black
Trainers or plimsoles
If the weather is cold a plain tracksuit top in a school colour is acceptable.
PE will be on the following days:
Le Pingouin – Mrs English – Friday
Les Lions – Mr Price – Thursday
L’elephant – Mrs Beckett (previously Miss Sandham) – Tuesday
La Girafe – Mrs Kent – Monday
La Loutre – Mrs Coade – Wednesday
Please refer to the letter sent out on the 22 July 2020, which is on the website, https://www.aycliffe.kent.sch.uk/letters/returning-to-school-in-september
to answer any questions that you may still have regarding the start and finish times for your child.
Finally, we would like to remind everyone that you are not currently allowed beyond the school gates where you drop your children off. Entry into the school office and school will be by appointment only. If you need to contact the school, please phone or email so that further arrangements can be made. As a result of the coronavirus, I’m sure you can appreciate that a space in school would have to be made ready and sanitised before your arrival and then again once you have left.
If your child requires medication, please hand it to the class teacher along with a signed letter detailing the medication requirements.
