Cake Sale

On Tuesday, 12 November Pupil Panels are holding a cake sale at morning break to raise money in order to help fund a project in a poor community that will enable families to build a basic toilet.  It costs £60 to build a basic toilet.

We should very much appreciate it if you would help this worth while project by donating cakes, either home made or bought.  Each cake will cost 50p and pupils will be able to buy more than one if they so wish.  Cakes can be brought into school from Monday, 11 November and pupils should bring money into school on Tuesday, 12 November.

Roman Day

On Wednesday, 13 November, pupils in Normandie (Class 3), Bourgogne (Class 4) and Pays de la Loire (Class 5) will enjoy a whole day taking part in a Roman workshop.  We should appreciate it if you would support your child on the day by providing a simple costume (Roman man or lady) for them to wear.

Children in Need 2019

Pupil Panels would once again like to support Children in need. On Friday, 15 November we would like everyone to wear their own clothes, but to add something yellow or spotty to it (i.e. some ears, socks, or a bandanna/hairband) in exchange for a £1 donation. Each class will place these coins on a Pudsey face; let's see if we can cover the face.

We will also have a competition for the children to take part in if they wish; we would like them to draw and colour in a Pudsey bear at home and bring their Pudsey bear into school for the 15 November when it will be judged by teaching staff in classes and one prize awarded to each class.

All money raised will be going to Children in Need.

Thank you for your continued support.

Key Stage One Nativity

The children in Alsace (Class 1) and Cote d’Azur (Class 2) will be performing their Christmas Nativity on Wednesday, 11 December.  There will be two performances of the Nativity.  The first will take place at 2.00pm.  There will also be an evening performance, beginning at 6.00pm.  We should be very grateful if you could ensure that your child is back in school by 5.30pm.

Due to Health and Safety regulations and the Fire Evacuation policy, we cannot allow any pushchairs or buggies to come into the school hall for the Nativity, for both afternoon and evening performances.  Please leave all buggies and pushchairs outside.

If wheel chair access is required, please inform the office before the performances so that previsions can be made. The vehicle gates will be opened for blue badge holders only between 1.30pm – 1.45pm and 5.30pm – 5.45pm.  If you require access, please inform the school office before Wednesday, 11 December.  There will be no access after the specified times.

Christmas Dinner in School

Christmas Dinner will be on Thursday, 12 December at a normal price of £2.25.

Christmas Carol Service

Classes, Normandie (Class 3), Bourgogne (Class 4) and Pays de la Loire (Class 5) will be taking part in a Christmas Carol Service on Monday, 16 December.  This will start at 6:00pm, but we should be very grateful if you could ensure the children are back at school by 5:30pm so that they can get ready.

Due to Health and Safety regulations and the Fire Evacuation policy, we cannot allow any pushchairs or buggies to come into the school hall for the Christmas Carol Service.  Please leave all buggies and pushchairs outside.

Also for this reason, the Carol Service will be ticketed.  Each family will be provided with 2 tickets and these will be coming home with your child.  If you have more than one child in the Carol Service, the oldest child will be given the tickets to bring home.  Please bring your tickets to the service.

If wheel chair access is required, please inform the office before the service so that previsions can be made. The vehicle gates will be opened for blue badge holders only between 5.30pm – 5.45pm.  If you require access, please inform the school office before Monday, 16 December.  There will be no access after the specified times.

Christmas Class Parties

It’s that time of year again where the teachers are planning Christmas parties for their classes. This year, we are again writing to ask you to donate food for the children to enjoy on the afternoon of Tuesday, 17 December.  We are planning to eat together as a school, with food shared between all the classes.  So that we have a range of foods, we would ask that you provide the food allocated to your child’s class.  As a guide, if you provide enough for approximately 6 children we will not end up with excess food.  However, if we do have any food left over, we will put it out during the disco or share it between the classes during ‘Golden Time’ on Wednesday.

Alsace - Sandwiches

Cote d’Azur - Biscuits, Cakes

Normandie - Fruit, Crisps

Bourgogne - Sausage rolls, pork pies, mini eggs or savouries

Pays de la Loire – Any of the above

We are grateful for the contributions you make to enable the Christmas parties to go ahead.  Please send your contribution in to your child’s class teacher on the morning of the party.  If you would like any further information, please ask your child’s class teacher.  Children may also bring in party clothes, which they will change into before the parties begin.  Please ensure that all clothes are placed in a bag with your child’s name on.

School Christmas Discos

The discos will be on Tuesday, 17 December.  There will be a Key Stage 1 disco from 3.15pm till 4.15pm and a Key Stage 2 disco from 4.30pm till 5.30pm.  The tickets are on sale from the School Office and cost £2.50 per ticket. Children that are in Key Stage 2 that are attending the disco, will need to go home and return to school at 4.30pm.  All children will need to be collected by an adult from their normal classrooms at the end of each disco.

Non-School Uniform Day

Wednesday, 18 December - As always, the children can wear their own clothes on the last day of term.  We ask for a voluntary contribution of £1.  These contributions will be used to buy resources to enrich children’s learning.
