Tuesday 14 March 2017. Pupils in year 6 made flat breads from the flour they had ground using the quern from the Egyptian Workshop.
Maya said “In maths we are learning about ratio and proportion and we were introduced to it by cooking because Mrs Cox said that any other way would be boring. There are 2 types of flat breads we made with different flour, one of them was ordinary wholemeal flour and the other one was Egyptian flour we ground using the quern. The texture was different for both of them but apparently the wholemeal flat bread was nicer because it wasn’t so plain. I have really enjoyed making it.”
Callum said “I thought it was really good cooking and baking with my friends. We learnt how to make flat bread and we learnt that the Egyptian flat bread didn’t taste as nice and it may have had stones in it.”
