Cake Sale

Pupil panel children have organised a cake sale to raise money for their chosen charity for this term which is Children In Need. Two years ago the pupils organised a sale of this kind which proved to be very successful and enjoyable for all pupils.  We were very appreciative of the contributions you made then. The cake sale will take place during break time on the 10 November. We would very much appreciate your help again this year in donating some cakes for the sale. If you are able to do so please deliver them into school by the 10 November at the start of the school day.  We welcome homemade and bought cakes. The cakes will be sold at 50p each.

If we have not yet received your consent forms for Sharing Images of Children, could you please return them as soon as possible.  We would like to start sharing some of the pupil’s activities on FaceBook.

Just a reminder to members of the community that when you are on the school grounds there is a Code of Conduct that needs to be adhered to.  So we would therefore be grateful for people to NOT use bad language.  Thank you for your support.

SCHOOL ANGEL FUND RAISING

A big thank you if you have used the school’s web page http://www.schoolangel.org.uk/aycliffe-community-primary-school.html to purchase goods and services over the internet. As a quick reminder, buying goods and services from well-known brand names through the link will not cost you any more money! So far the school has raised £176 through our School Angel charity web page.  I am hoping to raise a lot more through this source over the lead up to Christmas as there are so many popular suppliers who are offering to give up some of their profits to us, for example, Amazon, Marks and Spencer’s, Argos and a number of popular holiday companies.  Perhaps you could go and have a look at the list of suppliers… you may be surprised! It has taken us 18 months to raise £176 as a school and so I don’t think that many people have been using the School Angel.  If the school doesn’t use the School Angel newsletter it will be removed from the School Angel website. I really hope that we won’t be one of those schools as this is a really easy way to earn extra cash for the school.  If you think you can help with this fund raising opportunity and are unsure what to do please email and Louise Birch will let you have some more information.

Thank you for your continued support.

After school sports clubs

After school sports clubs are running and there are still spaces available.

Monday - Multi-Sports for Years 1 - 6

Tuesday - Take Action for Years 2 - 6

Wednesday - Football for Years 2 - 6

Thursday - Street Dance for Years 2 - 6

Friday - Gymnastics for Years 2 - 6

All clubs cost £1 per club per pupil.  The clubs have continued into Term 2 and the cost for this Term per club is £7.

Could parents please make sure that all pupils have their PE kits ready and in school.  Each pupil has their own locker where their PE kits can be kept during the school term.

Late arrival at school

When your child arrives late at school, he/she misses the teacher's instructions, their morning task and possibly the introduction to the lesson. Your child may also feel embarrassed at having to enter the classroom late.

Minutes late per day during the school year = Equals days' worth of teaching lost in a year

5 minutes = 3 days

10 minutes = 6 1/2 days

15 minutes = 10 days

20 minutes = 13 days

30 minutes = 19 days

Frequent lateness can add up to a considerable amount of learning lost, and can seriously disadvantage your child. School begins at 09.00am.  Please help your child to be punctual.

If you pay for your child's school dinner online you can use the link below and follow the link for Kent Schools Pay Online. www.principals-catering.com

School opening hours are 08.50am - 3.15pm

All sports clubs finish at 4.15pm and all children must be collected by an adult. There are still spaces left in the sports club if your child would like to join.

School Office opening hours are from

08.30-12.30

13.00-15.30
